Hi there, and welcome to Powered by Sass!
My name is Kaitlyn, the leading lady blogger, and I’m a 26-year-old New Orleanian currently living in the Washington, D.C. area.
I grew up a ballerina who played soccer on Thursdays, took piano lessons but quit because I never wanted to practice, studied both pre-med and theatre in college because I couldn’t decide, and ultimately graduated in 2013 with a degree in film, theatre and communications.
I lived and worked in New Orleans post-graduation acting in plays, writing for local publications and teaching theatre after a brief stint of working as a barista in one of New Orleans’ fav coffee shops (PJ’s, holler).
In the summer of 2016, I moved from New Orleans to D.C., said goodbye to my hometown of New Orleans, quit my job, and decided to embark on an adventure with my boyfriend, Felix, and the two pets, Tuki and Joey. You might see them around on this blog from time to time, but especially on my Instagram stories.
So what’s the blog about?
Powered by Sass is a blog for my fellow 20 and 30 somethings who are in the midst of navigating adulthood, cultivating careers, nurturing relationships and everything in-between.
I’m sharing tips and tricks for navigating adulthood with confidence and living your very best life and throwing up a middle finger to what doesn’t bring you happiness.
Empowering you to embrace where you are today and providing you with tools to tackle the future with confidence, courage and a little bit of sass is the name of the game around here.
Growing up is hard, but it’s easier when you have a team of people to learn from. My hope is that this blog can be a space where we can all learn and grow together.
